Poul Kjærholm (1929–1980) was a renowned Danish designer celebrated for his innovative contributions to modern furniture. He started his career as a cabinetmaker’s apprentice with Gronbech in 1948, later attending the Danish School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen in 1952. In 1953, he married Hanne Kjærholm, who went on to become a successful architect. Kjærholm’s embrace of industrial methods and materials during the 1960s introduced a refined, elegant, and distinctly modern aesthetic to Danish design.
