Ivar Callmander was a Swedish architect whose career spanned the transition from National Romanticism and Arts and Crafts to early twentieth-century functionalism. Born in Gothenburg, he studied at Chalmers University of Technology from 1900 to 1903, then furthered his architectural training at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. During this formative time, he worked under the guidance of the influential Lars Israel Wahlman, who introduced him to the principles of the Arts and Crafts movement and had a profound impact on his early work.
